Identifying an Opportunity

I joined Bayer as a consultant during a period of significant team realignment and changes in UX allocations. Although I was assigned to two product teams, specific tasks were not initially provided. Given the complexity of the products I was aligned to, like the international supply chain, it would be challenging to attain a deep understanding within my short contract period. Because of this, I decided that the most impactful contribution I could add to the team would be to create valuable resources for the team.

Setting the Team Up for Success

I waded through several years of research and design iterations and moved all of the relevant, usable documents into one well-organized repository, and I archived anything that was outdated or obsolete. Where applicable, I created simplified visualizations of complex processes to help align the team. As my artifacts were created I watched as they were referenced in team discussions and planning meetings. My work created a valuable tool for the existing team and the new talent that rolled onto the teams the week after I left.
